24v Cosworth for sale

I am sad to say that one of my Cosworths has to go. Have a look here for some pics (I will add more as soon as i get time) http://stillcxey.spaces.live.com/ Its the green one by the way!!! MOT till Jan 24th, no tax (SORN'd). Was running perfectly early this year and then a few probs started cropping up. Engine is great but is running rich, starts fine, then has trouble pulling away until the choke comes off and then just hesitates briefly when accelerated. Slight rattle on cold start for about 3 secs. Gearbox slow to engage and causes engine overrev on gearchanges. Heater matrix blocked so no hot air. I flushed it in the spring and it worked for a while, but then stopped again. Aircon still works but not very efficient. Just a regas i think. Front brakes had new disks in the spring but now has some judder again and ready for some new pads too. I have changed leaking rads twice this year and it now has a good 2.3 rad and expansion bottle. Body plastics all good, with no cracks but a couple of dents and a couple of rust areas and the usual scratches. However, the car had been keyed along the near side before i bought it and still is. Still on standard 14" Scorpio wheels, tyres OK, and i trust this car to handle a lot better than our red one which is on 15"s. The car is perfectly drivable, and i am only selling because a house purchase means i needed a cheaper to run motor. I now just dont have the time to sort this one and would rather it went to somone who can make good use of it. Any questions, please ask or phone me on 07967 488897. I want £150 for it please. Come and have a look in the Loughborough area. LE12 5RL Thanks Ian

Milage is 128k. Just remembered that the fuel guage is dodgy too. I have another to put in but never got the time to do it, but will be supplied with the car. Ian

Hi, I was wondering what kind of response you got in trying to sell your car here? My Cossie has to go, I've spent loads of money on it in the last 15 months (Cats, Hego's,Steeering rack, head overhaul ) and now the cam chains are rattling quite bad at tickover, but she still goes well. Did yours sell? Thanks Andrew

No interest from here whatsoever. My mate phoned with an interested party, but nothing came of it. Red one not cracked 200k yet as we have a cheaper to run car now too and use that most of the time to save on fuel. Ian

I thought that all the Cossie engines in the Scorpio were BOB, and that the Granada Scorpio Cossie was BOA ?. Yes, car still available. best to call me on 01158 493005 as my mobo signal is a bit dodgy here. Ian

Hi M8, all granada's where BOA and early facelift Scorpio's upto and including some 95 models, the easiest way to tell is if there is a big aluminium casting between the 2 heads its BOA if there is a big black plastic cover over the injectors then it's BOB my E-mail watkins.1@btinternet.com there are lots of questions I have but first need to find out if BOA or BOB, thanks Iain

In that case it is definately BOB with the plastic cover. Also i heard that BOA engines have the HT leads going to a distribution point at the back of the engine, while the BOB had them going to the front. In that case, again, it is definately a BOB. Ian

Hi Guys. Just sorry i han't been around for a while, but life has got very busy recently. Just so you know, the car IS still available if anyone is interested, but not for much longer. Marcus wanted it and i tried getting it back on the road for him, but it failed the MOT so we gave up. I have just over 1 week to be rid of it now, so unless someone wants to make me an offer and trailer it away, i go visit my local scrapper next Saturday and ask him to collect it. Ian
