Hi My Ultima just failed the MOT, offside sill, and would you believe broken front spings. One front seat floor mount needs a repair. It drives like a dream, dont want to scrap it if any ones interested, £150, Black leather seat, 4 doors ok, memory seat works ok, climate works but needs regassing, ally wheels and good tyres, new starter motor fitted a couple of monthes ago when I broke down in France, all up that cost me £400, and that was with Green Flag breakdown insurance. Drop my an email if of interest, I am near Basingstoke. If of no interest to anyone I may break it, as I cannot see the point of trying to repair it, as hopefully I am moving to France early next year, and have another 4 cars to look after and transport. Colin

Hi Nouveau Red, Maroon. Regarding the springs, I am wondering if the MOT man got it right, as they both appear to be the same, the front end of the car does not seem to be low, so I really do not know. Maybe some one altered them. Colin

| Hi Colin Different car I know, but we bought an escort for my wife a few years back, she drove it around with no problems at all, put in for mot and low and behold it failed on front springs..... The man had to show me the problem while it was on the lift, on careful inspection you could see that the top coil sections on the springs were collapsed together. He said that with all the speed humps and things it has become a regular problem with cars recently (then). The front of the car was only slightly lower than it should have been which is why we hadn't noticed it but he said it had been like that for quite a while. Cost us about £300 to have fixed. I suggest you lift the car right up and have a good butchers in the top of the strut. hth Pete
