Anyone fancy a swap?

R reg 2.3 Ghia saloon with leather and cruise, manual, in pepper red, 170k, taxed and MoT'd, towbar, perfect working order I might be tempted with a swap/part-ex with another Scorpio with a bigger engine - either the 2.5 diesel or either of the 2.9 V6s. Not fussed on appearance but must have a towbar and cruise control and be taxed and MoT'd

I'm in Cheltenham. Body is straight, sills/arches not rusty, paintwork is generally not that great + rear bumper has a crack on the left hand side. Tax runs out end of this month so I'll be putting another 6 months on it, MoT til June or July (cant remember offhand) No service history. I changed the oil when I got it (6k ago) and I'll be changing it again this month.

Thanks for the reply Pikey.TBH im looking for a 2.0l ultima with a manual box,but it has to be immaculate.Might consider a 2.3 but it would also need to be mint with no manifold ,coil pack,or elec probs (Yeah i know) .I will have a really nice (2nd place billing) 12 valve estate to part ex / sell.

Well there's nothing electrically wrong with it - everything works as it should, barring the water temp gauge which only works intermittently. Engine is fine, gearbox is fine, interior is immaculate, just the outside shows its 170k mileage. I dont know what the full spec of an Ultima is, my Ghia has electric windows all round, electric mirrors, cruise control, leather, aircon, front heated screen, ABS, driver + passenger airbags, trip computer, 16" alloys - all that comes to mind that's missing is heated seats and a CD player

It does sound a good un m8,but as i,ve said the next one will have to be MINT.I dont really have the time to do a restoration. The estate i have at present is finally getting to where i want it.Over 70 hrs work has gone into the body alone, thats before i started on the interior & mechanicals.Shame really as id love to have another project, but time restrictions coupled with Solihull council banning me from working on cars (long story),this will be the last restoration i,d do.

Fair enough, mine certainly isnt mint from the outside. I dont think the diesel would save me enough money to justify changing cars when I know I've got a good one at the moment, and the autobox puts me off a Cosworth, so I guess I'll stick with what I've got
