98 2.3 saloon NOW SOLD
« on: Jul 10th, 2008, 10:31am » |
|
R reg 2.3 Ghia saloon with leather and cruise and CD player, manual, in pepper red, 186k, tax August / MoT end of May, towbar with electrics, very good working order Good points: I've done 23,000 miles in it since August 2007, and its only let me down once - and that was the death of the old battery in April. A new one (£100) has been fitted 4 x new tyres in last 10 months New rear discs/pads fitted in June (for MoT) Bad points: Rear bumper has a crack in it Temperature gauge works intermittently £700 ono - slashed to £350 Here's a picture, at the Nurburgring in April (the 200SX is also mine, I didnt drive the Scorp on the track)

You are dead right Highlander, the poor things were derisory right from the start, and I reckon sales would have been even lower had it not been for lease hire fleets and company purchases. The average motorist either loved or hated them, mostly the latter. However it now appears that they were way ahead of their time because they dont look out of place now,and there can be little doubt that they are a very good robust car,let down by over zealous application of advanced electrics.Pikey, put it in cotton wool and keep it as it becomes a quirky classic. They are in great abundance in scrap yards, and you seldom see one that is unduly rusty.Yes Highlander it is indeed very sad . GOZZ.

If I'm only going to get pennies for it, I'll just keep it until the engine dies or it becomes uneconomical to MoT again. I'm expecting to see 200k out of it well before that happens

I've seen a nice BMW estate that I'd like to buy asap. Will take £500 for a sale before the weekend. Current mileage is approaching 184k. 20,000 miles without missing a beat, only selling because I need an estate car or a van really

| Well the BMW sold so I've no need for a quick sale anymore, so £600 is the price. I've almost decided to keep it to be honest - but I will still sell it if I actually get an offer, because an estate would be so much more practical.

Quick note - I cant actually let it go until after next weekend anyway, as that forces me to buy a car with a towbar that I wont need after that weekend (need to move a caravan that weekend, but after that I have no need for a towbar)
