Scorpio 2.9 ultima auto est. NOW SOLD.
« on: Nov 5th, 2009, 9:44am » |
|
`I am selling my father-in-laws Ford Scorpio 2.9 Ultima Auto Estate. I am unable to load any photos at the momment, but will as soon as the kids show me how to do it! My father-in-law has owned this car for over 9 years, he now has to sell it as he has bought himself a smaller car. It is now sat on my drive, sorned since the end of October (4 days ago), and the wife wants it gone! Details of the car are as follows; Ford Scorpio 2.9 Ultima Auto Estate. 96,000 miles with FSH, MOT until August 14th 2010, Two brand new tyres (for last MOT, very few miles since), Full black leather interior, immaculate!, Electric everything, which ALL works, windows/roof/seats etc etc, Cruise control, Air con/climate control, Brand new auto gear box from Fords 2 years ago, costing over £1000, receipt to prove, All old MOTs FSH, some ford, some local dealer, New rear brake discs (for last MOT), Radio with CD player in boot, No tax, just been sorned, 3 owners, last for nine years, Tow bar with twin electrics (working), No rust on arches, sills etc. In fact could not see any rust. Everything on this car works as it should. Reg 31/08/1985 N reg Met Green The miles on the previous 9 years MOTs are as follows, to show how little he has used it. Last MOT 95994 94449 92980 91744 90171 85877 81599 75138 70844 Bad point, very small dent in boot by number plate, where the silly old sod reversed into a small post in the car park!. Not creased, so should be able to push back out. Think that is about it, I will try and get photos on here asap. The car is on my drive in South Croydon, viewing is more than welcome. V5 in father-in-laws name, but he will be at my house when the car is sold to handover. Asking price, £650 cash........ This is a lot of car for very little money, but it has to go as I want the drive back. It will also go on e-bay after the weekend, and in autotrader, but the price will be higher as it will cost me! Any questions, please PM me or e-mail me at dj.brian AT tiscali.co.uk Many thanks

Depends 12v is a good solid reliable engine, the 24v is the Cosworth engine

Well, it is a very good car!. If I could afford to run it along side my merc, I would. Just think its a very cheap car for what it is. I still think thease cars are worth so much more, and so under estimated. Having driven it, it is superb. I work for the old bill, and we had the saloon version of this a few years back......WOW, what a car, no-one ever got away from us. Excellent handling etc etc...We now drive a Shogun!. Load of c~~p!. No power, handles like nutse, anyone that wont stop will get away, not even worth trying anymore. Anyway, car is very good and well cared for. If anyone is looking for a decent one, this is it. And at the price I am asking, a steal!

brian. Oi don't mention'steal' if you work for the constabulary, they might have you upstairs for a grilling ! That car is without doubt a bargain if it's as good as it sounds, because it has an unbustable engine and a replacement transmission. Tiff was looking for one on here,I just drew his attention to it. GOZZ.

| That one sounds like a 24v Any idea if they "modded" it in any way? I recently picked up an ex police 24v which seems to pull VERY well, basic spec but well looked after

There is a bit of a question mark surrounding my car . Apparently it's an ex training car . Not too sure about uprated breaks, but i know it will rev up to 6000rpm in top ...On private land of course . Ok thats enough thread stealing for me

Forgot to say, air con was re-gassed in july this year, so does not need to be done for another 3 years. I do now have photos if anyone is genuine about the car, dont know how to post on here, so e-mail or PM me.

Yep If you have fuel issues then a Scorpio is not the car for you, in any guise (unless you have a diesel running on free veg oil)

Just for info, My uncle has the 2.3, bought it same time as the father in law, hardly, if any diff between MPG!. He is not selling his 2.3 though, still able to drive a big car, and still loves it.

It sounds like it! There should be quite a noticable difference between the 12v and the 2.3 mpg they must have very different driving styles On my 24v I can see mpg returns of between 15 and 33 depending how i'm driving it on the day
