Both of those cars are in the clouds.   Nice cars undoubtably, but worth only a fraction of their asking price.   I'd be thinking about £12-15 hundred fo the first one if it had a wee warranty from the seller, and about next to b****rr-all for the silver one!  Nah, about £7-800 for the silver one.   Whats the thoughts?

It all boils down to what someone wants to pay i suppose  Undecided. I know a guy from Unleashed who sold his 96 cossie estate for £2,500  Shocked Shocked. Mind you it was super low mileage & absolutley mint  Wink. However i have noticed a slight increase in scorpio prices of late, but i too think those paticular cars are well overpriced. I would think £1500 would be top dollar for a scorpio, providing it was a late facelift cossie or diesel in as new condition. Well thats what i would pay anyway  Wink. Hang on in there Rich. The right car will come along sooner or later  Smiley

Scorpio Ultima 12V 2.9L   April 95

Thanks to anonymous Berk in Tescos car park, needs N/S Headlamp and new Front Bumper. Also some slight surface scratches on N/S doors. Coachwork otherwise in mint condition. Absolutely NO rust anywhere.

Genuine 90, 000 miles from new. Head gskets renewed 2000 miles ago, and new disks and pads all round at the same time.

I'm looking to change to something more economical.

What should I ask, if selling privately?

What should I ask in partex for a £3000 used car?

Help, anyone?

Hi Don,

With that damage and the 12v engine I dont suspect you'll get much for it at all privately, I'm guessing around 300.

Scrappage on a cheap new car might be the best option?

Yeah!  I sort of expected that.

Breaking for parts would earn a lot more, but it does seem a shame to junk that perfect rust free shell, the first mint 15 year old I've ever had.

New car isn't an option, I'm afraid, hence the query about partex on a £3000 used one.

Pity really. If I were twenty years younger I'd look at shoehorning a diesel in there.

Thanks for the help though.
