Looks quite a tidy 24v facelift and has reached a good price, although at £1200 it hasn't yet reached the reserve..

will be interesting to see what the winning bid is..

Wow, it's up to £1500 now, I don't think a Cossie on Ebay is worth that much.

Call me cynical but I get wary when I see bidders with low feedback bidding early and high Wink

Seems to have reached the reserve of 1500?

Will be interesting to see if it is relisted Wink

I've spent more than that to keep mine in perfect order, except for some parking lot dents.

I wouldn't pay that much for a car i can only see a tiny bit of,

who knows what condition the front of it is in as no pics, same to with the seats, doesnt state whether its leather or cloth and maybe its just me or the way the photo has been taken but it seems to be leaning on the off side rear ? doesnt even have the scorpio wording on the tail lights Tongue

That's terrible news David. What a waste of your time.
Matt called it right for me.
I believe only two colours of leather were available. Raven and the Pumice fitted to that one.

I also bidded on it but baulked at that price.

If it goes back on Ebay as no doubt it will.  I will bear in mind what you have seen.
I might even go upto £205 this time. Grin

I have two Black Cossies already, unfortunately neither are for sale.

Can nothing be done about this cowboys description?   I know Ebay can be a risk, but if someone is lying about their description they should be hammered.   I dearly hope you put up some negative feedback, then lets see him sell his car!   Did it have the 12 spoke wheels?   I was too lazy to look at the pics!

I bought a facelift cossie off ebay and had the same experience, 450 mile round trip and came back with my money. Looked in autotrader that night and found the one I have in Bristol, which I bought the next day, I had driven past Bristol to see the ebay one.  Keep looking.

Having experienced both buying and selling  cars privately on ebay I would have to say buying a car there is or should be exactly the same as buying one anywhere else.. unless you are prepared to take the risk of believing the sellers description, you need to go and look at it first.

I appreciate distance may be a problem but if you're spending 1000 quid plus its surely worth it.

No one would think of buying a car privately off autotrader etc without going to see it first so why is ebay different?

I have bought cars on ebay without seeing them but only for low prices, a couple of hundred quid, knowing I would get my money back on scrap and parts if necessary.

I've had some worse than described and some loads better, its just your luck.

To be honest the guy selling the car above only says it drives fine and is probably the best one on ebay, theres every chance at the time it COULD have been.

So although I would (and) have been disappointed winning a car on ebay in poor condition that I hadnt been to see, it would be my own fault.
i would (and) have been equally pee'd off as a seller by someone winning the bidding without viewing the car then refusing to take it despite inviting people to come and view it first.

the law as a private seller says it must be as described eg if u sell a lawn mower that cuts grass and u get there and it dont cut grass u can get ur money back, but best is just state eg 1995 scorpio tax and mot, thats all you need. if u state more ur digging a hole for yourself it the things aint true or exact
