You should ALWAYS have a look before bidding for your own peace of mind unless you can afford to take the gamble, especially on an estate for rear end corrosion, don't trust an MOT certificate.
I appreciate theres a distance involved but finding out you've bought a dud wouldnt be a good experience, especially if you've handed over the money first..
From a sellers point of view, I have twice sold vehicles on ebay where the buyer turned up after the auction ended and decided he didnt like the look of it/wrong colour/it was bigger than he thought it would be etc despite me recommending people to come and look at it before the end of the auction, which is VERY frustrating.
so now I keep them under lock and key until the money is handed over first which has also proved quite entertaining

il second that, i had to drop the rear suspension to weld up the chassis legs as typicaly i couldnt get to it any other way. least i know its done and anyone else coming to look at my car can see
need to look carefully as you may not see it at a glance
looks a nice car though

I think that's probably the best course, if it helps, much earlier this year I spent about £500 on new exhaust, catalytic converter and MAF sensor, not being absolutely sure how much difference it would make, but was really worth doing.

When I got mine I saw that both the sil's need patching, but didn't notice that the chassis needs plating too !
Saying that I bought the old oil burner Focus of eBay with out looking at it !
Then went from Cheshire too Cornwall to collect it
3 & half years later all I've replaced is a starter & water pump aswell as general servicing !

Aye, I'm just at that stage now Mike. Ordered new MAF, and Cat, already got the Stainless Steel System. I'm hoping the MAF makes a difference.

about this car cos of the probs we have had with us, as thought we could get a perfect one out of the 2, also parts for these cars arnt getting cheap. it will take about 2 and a half hours to get there, but we are wondering wether to go up and have a look first before bidding.
