Hi to all on the list!
Unfortunately I am having to give up my R registration 2.3 Scorpio Ultima automatic estate.
A combination of factors, a new grand son in Austria pointing to at least 4 trips per annum, the fact that the breakdown is no longer covered abroad on our combined policies, a realization that even a small problem abroad could result in a problem getting parts
.etc. etc.has led me to decide to get something a little younger.
I bought the car just over 3 years ago with 32K miles on the clock from a friend of mine in my golf club. He had bought it from The Sales Manager of his Ford dealer in August 1998. Consequently I have the bill of sale from the Ford dealer dated 20/9/98 and its full service history since its first major service in 19999. The car has done 65k miles now and since I have had it has had a fully synthetic oil change every 5k miles and a full service every 10k miles. Like any 14 year old car it has a few warts but it has just been MOTd until July 2013. It has never let me down in over 30kmiles, a lot of it abroard.
This is my 3rd Ultima over a period of 7-8 years and my biggest gripe with Ford is that they stopped making it.
I shall miss my contact with you guys on the list but if any one is interested in it I would much rather it went to a good home via the list rather than a scrap merchant via EBAY. Dont be afraid of putting in a small offer as I may not get round to struggling with EBAY again in which case it will just go to scrap, which would be a real waste.

Don't think it all means you have to be banished from the forum 
Reminds me I now notice my RAC cover cannot do European assistance if vehicle older than 11 years, which would make sense as per above.
As it is most likely have to be trailered home in the UK due to the scarcity of new parts. Depending what the problem is.
