After 12+ years of wonderful driving, the time has come to pension off my 12v saloon (in Aubergine). It is MoT'd until Jan 2014 & is taxed until June 2013. I'd like £270 for the car if I get the tax back, or £350 if the tax stays. (So you can drive it home during Feb, before I cash in the remaining 4 months.) Although I've been driving it daily until today, it has quite a few problems... I've just spent £500 getting it through the MoT including a recon steering rack. The steering is fine when driving, but the assistance dies away on tickover, when you're trying to park! I'm fairly sure it just needs air bleeding out if it (the pump was working perfectly before the MoT, but it failed on leaking seals in the rack). The aircon (climate control) isn't working because of a slow leak... should be easy to fix. The rear tyres (Michelin Primacy all round) are close to the limit. I hit one of those lock-in-place metal poles that protect a parking spot yesterday & broke the front bumper & fog light. I've stitched it back together with cable ties so it's perfectly safe to drive (but the bumper is not repairable). The engine misses when starting from cold but runs as sweet as a nut once warm. I've changed plugs, leads, rotor arm & cap but it didn't fix it. I suspect it's dirty or sticky injectors (but that's just a guess). It sailed through emissions in the MoT (always has done) so it's not too serious. I've changed the oil (Magnatec) & filter every 5000 miles since I bought it (at 35,000 miles). It doesn't use a drop of oil & the transmission is perfect. It's now done 145,000 miles. The auto-dim rear view mirror is fairly new, the starter motor & battery were new in 2012. It's got light tan leather (driver's seat slighly cracked). Passenger seat heater is ok, but the driver's one isn't working. I'm sure this is a connection problem (in the seat) as it worked intermittently for quite a while before finally stopping altogether. Inside boot lid bottom has rusted badly. I had the rear arches replaced & resprayed about 5 years ago but the arches have rusted again. Had some welding done underneath to get through the last 3 or 4 MoTs. 2 working remotes, 6000 radio (LCD fades out sometimes but comes back ok at others). Tape never used, CD player perfect. Can't think of anything else off hand. Feel free to ask any questions. The car is in Bognor Regis on the south coast. The reg is P 237 SCK. Email or PM me for telephone details. Mike Millen

Thanks, Simmo. The car has now been sold. It will be ending its life in a blaze of glory as a Banger Racer! Better than rotting away in a breaker's yard, I think. Thanks to everyone in the Scorpio group. Mike
