Facelift 2.3 Ultima (No longer for sale)

I'm selling my trusty old 2.3 Ultima Facelift & will let it go for the highest offer....if any. Here's the lowdown :- Mid Atlantic Blue A whole years MOT (minus two weeks), but only taxed 'till the end of March. 264,000 miles on the clock (a testament to how good these cars really are) Has been used as a licensed Hackney carriage vehicle for the last seven years, so has had additional twice yearly council MOT tests. The last one was a month ago & it passed. Obvously many parts have been replaced in the time that I've had it :- Brand new heater matrix, new s/h leather interior, brand new inlet manifold/injectors/fuel rail/fuel rail pressure regulator/throttle, all new engine sensors & engine loom, brand new coolant radiator, new aircon pump/water pump/steering pump/steering rack. Brand new heavy duty rear springs & shocks, front strut upper mounts, O/S/R wheel bearing, recent O/S/F wheel bearing, new front brake calipers, new front brake hoses, recent new rear brake pads & all the tyres are well within legal limits. The car is perfectly drivable & probably will be for a while yet. Bad points are :- Autobox won't select reverse when cold (common problem with internal reverse solenoid & worse in winter,) but fine after a couple of miles. Engine sump gasket leaks oil, so needs regular checking & topping up. I think the engine uses oil as well, but the emissions were fine in the last MOT two weeks ago, so can't be burning it off. Engine was replaced at 98,000 miles, so only done 166,000 miles. Bodywork wise....sills have been welded & look a bit untidy, N/S rear wheel arch has been recently tidied up & resprayed but O/S rear wheel hasn't been done yet, so looks a bit scabby. There are a few very small dents (battle scars) around the bodywork, but none that really stand out (depends how good your vision is)...& a few scratches that also don't really stand out (again, depending on the clarity of eye site), but the roof is marked/scratched where the taxi sign has been magnetically stuck to it for 7 years. Also the sunroof doesn't tilt'N'slide anymore. This is a common fault with these cars due to corrosion in the sliding mechanism...The motor still works fine, it's just that the sunroof jams up when trying to open it. Oh, & as mentioned in 'Off Topic Subjects', the glove box bulb has blown The recent MOT had two advisories :- slight play in both track rod inner ball joints & slight play in front wishbone bushes. Both inner track rod ball joints are fine & the problem seems to have been rectified by tightening up the steering pinion to rack nut at the front of the rack. As for play in the wishbone bushes, it wasn't mentioned in the taxi MOT test a fortnight earlier & I can't detect it. Maybe the proper MOT test showed up that they were getting close to the tolerance point, hence the advisory & not a fail. Can't think of anything else good or bad to say about the car for the time being, so I'll leave it at that. As I mentioned before, I'm not asking for any particular price, just a reasonable offer If anyone is interested then please PM me with your phone number & I'll be in touch ASAP P.S...I'll post a couple of piccies soon

£250 ? with a full years MOT You'll have to better than that. The local salvage yard offered me £300 for it a few months ago....& that was before I got another years MOT on it Any offer close to £400 & I'll let it go. It will easily give another years motoring & most likely pass the next MOT I might also add, that this car has only had two registered owners....myself & West Ham United PLC, whom I bought it from

Yes I know what WD wants it for & fair play to him, as that is a little bit more (not a lot) than the going rate for it's weight value as scrap. Anyway, not for sale again for the time being, as the car I was going to buy didn't quite meet my standards (or the Scorpio standards) There's alot more life left in her yet before her final battle
