Is this worth looking at?
Its far too much money in my opinion, but is the rust too much of a risk?

Dan.
Superficial rust like that is of little consequence, though the tailgate may be more of a problem than it looks, and may be cheaper to replace than to repair, being an estate it is prone to rust weakening on each side of the underframe near the rear suspension, and would need a good looking at for MOT worthiness. As you say the price is on the high side for a scabby example, and with substantial mileage as well.As we know lots of stamps in the service book, particularly from a main dealer are to be treated with some circumspection.
The main concern of Joe Public when purchasing an old car is it's appearance, that one is untidy through neglect or general disinterest, therefore will not have a rush of buyers.I would have a look, listen and drive if that was what I needed, with a view to making a sensible offer, after all the scabs will not detract from it's use,and if you are wanting useful wheels it could be run as a rolling restoration,at least the problems are visible and haven't been disguised leading to early breakout.

Thanks gozz
I asked him last night if he could state the advisories from the last mot, just incase the rust is a problem underneath yet. I also agree that a new boot woulld be an easier option than sorting that one.
I will let you know what he says.

got a reply:
'6 advisories on last mot none relating to rust. Slight play in o/s and n/s rear wheel bearings. 2 Tyres have some cracking. Rear brake pipe surface corrosion and rear drive shaft gaitor'
Will have to have a think about this one now.

It might be worth contacting Spikie Scorpio as i do know he is moving sites shortly and may be glad to sell rather than move cars.

Thats the only thing with spikie, his prices are too much for us  Shocked
The second one you shown, the estate is listed wrong. It says 16v but in the listing he says :
'THIS VEHICLE IS THE WELL SORT AFTER MODEL , NOT ONLY IS IT THE ULTIMA VERSION BUT ALSO HAS THE COSWORTH 2.9 24V ENGINE'  so he means 24v huge sign on engine cover Roll Eyes
