Is the back seat different on some models? Why did you fit a different back seat?

Hi the back seat varies on the facelift - on very late models the double seat back has an extra headrest, (and I have a fussy daughter), I am told this makes her feel more secure whilst sleeping on a journey (in a COSWORTH!!) as it give more head support. Also the late 2.3 estate i have (still not sold) has a catch in the floor for the squab to engage in and makes up a 3 point seat belt instead of the lap strap commom in saloon and estate centre back seat, not sure if this applies to saloons also as mine is M plate. I think tenfut has a late saloon so his knwledge will put things right. Also have a spare 3 head rest format leather seat for a saloon (yes they are different on the estate) paid around £30 for it so money back + carriage and its yours if you want it. Also have late tail lights and chrome front grilles if anyone needs them. Stay safe R

Mine is non facelift, December 1996 build, first registered January 1997. Only 2 headrests but back seats never get used anyway. Tony

Sorted, Quentins facelift saloon has the 3 point fixing for the middle seat belt as can be seen on his photos when he advertised the car for sale Sso there are 2 types for saloon anyway, one with just an extra headrest (like the spare i have and the one in my M reg saloon) and the what appears to be very late facelift with the seat belt coming down from the top of the seat in a 3 point fixing format. Must lie down now all this nerding nd excitement has made me quite tired. SCORPIO@S dont you jess luv 'em

Yes, mine had centre rear headrest and the three point fixing, I think someone was interested in converting theirs and asked for pictures at one point. From memory mine was made at the end of 97 or very early 98, registered in March. What impressed me about the seat was that folded flat, never seen that in a saloon before, more used to the backrest just sitting on the cushions.

Hello Quentin and all, Yes you are right this was with them before, but then sold, it first came to light on ebay and was then in portsmouth, bounced around a bit and wound up with kgf. The loden green extate was around at the same time with a similar value (4-5k) this also was sold and has reappeared since, I was interested in it but had a set of comprehensive underside shots, and for what they wanted it was just too much as some more work was needed. Happy now with my 2 times saved from the engine snatchers grey estate from scotland, complete mit dent in rear wing and door complete with cracked front bumper, just coaxed it over the last year to behave like the Cosworth it is, and its paying off, much quieter then my other cos estate as not had a tuned stainless exhaust-rather noisy and quite annoying on long journeys on A roads (thats a laff seen better A roads in Africa than the crap we have here). Anyone heard from PJ lately? very quiet on here now and miss his banter. Stay safe ye'all out around dartmorr for a few days now, honk if you see me : -sorry
