After owning a scorpio for many (dare I say it),trouble free yrs,as I dont drive the car anymore my wife uses it to get to work, she now wants something sportier.
She has seen a ford probe which she likes the look of.
question is does anyone know any thing about them?
I know they had a dodgy reputation, but so did the scorpio(didn't listen to that gossip either).
Anyone give me any advise...cheers

I used to run around in a 2.5 V6 one for a few weeks. Only thing you could say about it was 'hateful'  It drives horribly with no feel in the steering, everything is nasty shiny plastic inside and the engine is very muted and underpowered. I seem to remember it having bad mirrors as well, huge blind spots. Build quality was very 'friday afternoon' but that may have just been mine. If she wants 'sporty' then I would say avoid them. Look at the 306/307 range or any Honda Type R. If you want to stay with ford try an ST200 Mondeo. Very sporty and it has the looks.

You cant go wrong with a MR2. Superb little cars, hold there value and very reliable and there would  even be enough room to put her hand bag in the bootHuh er bonnet!!!. Or slightly bigger the toyota celica. Once again lovely design, great handling very reliable. In 4 years of running one of these i only had to replace the temp sender for the cooling fans.

Totally agree with you about the MR2, new shape I take it. I've no experience of the Celica apart from an old GT4 (quite fun!!) but have heard very good things.
