I was comming home from Donegal (Ireland) my home place and filled the car with petrol just over the border in southern Ireland as its only 63p per litre.....anyhow I reset the computer (average mpg) and drove a constant 56mph as much as I could. to cut a long storey short I got a astoninsing 37.4mpg.....and for the sceptics out there this photo was taken when I got home and turned off the engine. the trip was 90 miles. http://groups.msn.com/TheFordScorpio1995/johnjscarwiththesticker.msnw?ac tion=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=462 There was a nice clean MAF These are marvelous on long jorneys. I cleaned the MAF and have learned to be light with the throttle - I also do a lot of cruising when I see a line of cars of red traffic lights ahead. My MPG is up to an averge of about 24MPG now - That's with mainly open roads and a few miles city driving. Although the cith driving is ok this week - due to Easter holidays, the roads are fairly clear. What a Godsend! Still, when I first got the car, I was getting about 21-22MPG (before I cleaned the MAF)!

Just picked up the wife from the airport and got 33.1mpg this time, Newry to Belfast had to go through Lisburn which is now a city and got held up behind a tractor. on a flat road it gets up to 40mpg, soon as I hit a slight incline it falls to around 27 and then settles....I think the cruise control can sometimes be a bit severe on the throttle, if the speed drops suddenly because of a very sharp incline the CC will think nothing of flooring it. so when I see a large hill I'll turn off CC and ease it up the hill . ...but as far as scorpios go its good on the juice. I've done over 200 miles now and still have over a 1/2 tank of petrol. JJ
