In car TV's

I purchased a 6" LCD tv whilst on holidays in Spain. My intention is to fit somewhere in the front of the car. However, I haven't a clue where I can put it. I don't want to drill any holes in the dash or anything like that. There is no room in the centre console or around the gear selector lever as the car is simply too narrow. The only place I can think of is in front of the centre vents. I don't know how I will affix it there though. I also need a suitable aerial as the one that comes as standard is crap. I also intend to connect up a mini dvd player I own at some stage. Anyone have any ideas what I could/should do?

you can buy a bracket which is manufactured for the scoirpio and is usually sold tomount a screen for a sat nav system. I have a picture somewhere I will try and dig it out, Just means you don't need to drill anywhere

sounds crazy but.......
i have a screen mounted on the rear of the centre consul at the moment for the "girls" (daughters),i have now been looking at the option of fitting another screen in the front for the passenger (usually me at the moment Wink),anyway what has been mentioned to me by the guy who helped me with all the other stuff is mounting a screen on the back (over the vanity mirror, dont use it myself Wink Wink) of the sun visor and running the wiring back into the boot to where the video etc. is fitted,so then basically all passengers can then be catered for............
any use ?

regards

Graham,

The company which makes the one I have seen is called ARAT. They are a German company but I don't know if they do a right hand drive version.

Have a look here:
http://www.arat.de/nemet/cnz/halter/detail.asp?detail=51&fzgh=FORD

Send them an email and ask. I like the look of it because it appears to be fully adjustable so would make using the TV more user friendly for them in the front

Thanks a million for that. The bracket does look good alright. I would imagine it is suitable for both left and right and drive, judging by the photo. I have emailed the company anyway, just to be sure.
I had actually tried putting the screen at the rear of the centre console but the screen is too big. The two front seats are much too close together. Might get myself an old S-Class or 7-Series!!!

I think that front mount looks really naff. Plus what about the tea leaves spotting it. If you must have one in thr front its got to be sunvisor or replace the existing radio with one. john.n Wink

Well the front mount won't fit right hand drive Scorpio's. Here is the reply I got back from the company who manufactures them:
"The requested navigation mount for Ford Scorpio will not fit a right hand
drive car. The contours of the dashboard are mirror imaged and will therfore
not fit, and we have not manufactured a mount for this vehicle for the right
hand drive market."
I was planning on getting the windows tinted dark enough so people and tea leaves cannot see inside. I only ever park at home and at work and in multi story car parks. Multi story car parks in Ireland are generally very safe for parking your car. I have never seen a car broken into in one. The car park in work is secure and I park at home on the drive in a fairly decent, fairly low crime area. Ok and the monitor will defo not fit in the sunvisor. It's too big.
Anyone have any other ideas? I might just try making up something myself. That should be a good laugh!!!

Do you know whatHuh That Argos cd holder looks like it could be just right. Might pop into the local Argos tomorrow and check it out. Thanks for that tip.
42" plasma would be great on the dash. The visibility might be impaired a little bit though!!!
