Well...My Red Cossie has now gone!!

But it has gone to a good home! Really nice guy called Alan from Uxbridge way came last night to collect it. Gave him all the bits and bobs that go with the car and then got onto the serious stuff about the website, the forum and most importantly of all...the meetings!

It was quite funny really because the car seemed to take second place when we started on about this place and the "fun" we have at the meetings (although I can't for the life of me think why running up a field in the blazing sun to change the wheel on a Fiesta was fun!!)

Anyway, I digress, he has said he will try and attend some of the meetings next year and will pop up on here as well I hope.

Thanks Alan and I hope you have as much fun as I have in it!!

Thanks for the introduction Barry!

You betcha - already got the Cosworth bug!! Smiley

The Red Scorpy is already settling in well in Binfield, and drinkin' the local unleaded like it's going out of fashion!!  Shocked

It's taken me about 18 months to find that elusive '98 facelift Ultima Scorpy, but we got there in the end!

Wonder what bits I'm gonna mess with first? Got to be the audio system, I guess!

Cheers

Alan

Welcome to Scorpio World. As mentioned many times before, there is a very helpfull friendly bunch of people on this site. Seeing as you are down Uxbridge way, you are quite near me in Harrow. So keep a lookout for a Panther Black facelift estate. I will be watching for you. Having seen the pics, I know what Baz's old one is like. Trouble is, it probably puts mine to shame.

I can see why you guys all sing the praises of the 24V Ultima Cosworth...

..Filled it up with juice 3 times already this week... ouch!

Might have to sell and get a 98 2.3 Ultima instead!  Cry

300 miles per tank of juice after my Mondeo Ghia X is terrifying!!  Shocked

Great car though...

Alan,

it isn't the filling up, it's the taking part that matters. Just got back from France and boy can the Cossie eat the miles (and the fuel) on them autoroutes. I have just done from near Arras to Warrington on one tankful with only one beep to tell me I had 50miles left in the tank. It is great for distances but round town is a bit of a mare!!

Did some motorway driving the other day, which saw my average MPG go up 29-point-something.
Now, with the town driving, that average is now down to 23. Give it another day or so and I expect that will read about 19.
But I don't care. I fully expected this economy when I bought it. In fact, I think its a bit better than I expected.
