I've looked on the site www.obd-2.com and like plenty here have done already i'm gonna get one.. Now the good bit is my mate Scott lives in Clear Water USA and often purchases motorbike stuff on my behalf and sends on to the UK for me avoiding customs and excessive overseas shipping. Don't see why i should pay towards the Blair's kids education. So $122 means $122 plus shared postage to the UK (quid fifty each or so). I'll get the numbers of 'wants', then order and recieve, then send on in exchange for a cheque.... Anybody else want one edit : in english this works out at about £65 quid fully inclusive of everything job done.

blimey ! Don't know the facts but looks like someone's been a naughty boy !! though i wouldn't have took any money off anyone untill i had the part in hand to pass on. Well i think considering it'll work out at 65 quid i'll get a few then pass on to any one wanting one.... d**n dishonest pillocks messing it up for others !! oh yeah the shippings free by the looks of it but the customs and vat aint !! (rip off country we live in). Cheers for the insight though bud.

I did a mass order last year - got about 25 in the end, the VAT was only about £13 for the lot anyway! Alex Pepper gives a group discount which does make it worth while! As for trust - well I kept them all informed as much as possible, and only cashed the cheques when the charge went on my account. My only interest in doing it was to get a lead at a discount - the costs to me were available to all those involved! It was fun in a way, but took a bit of time to administer! Daven

Cheers for that daven, Seems that most that would want would most proberly already have one or have access to one already. So i'll just get my own and have a play at that.. £13 customs etc was bloody lucky. I've bought power commanders and exhaust systems from the states for my bikes (given bikes up now as my mate was killed sunday night just gone) and i've ended up being stung 35% or so !! Cheers dan

Sorry to hear that Dan! I think it depends what the sender declares the items as - had a look into the C&E rules when I was doing it, bit of a mine field! Regards Daven

Hi Dan, Genuinely sorry to hear about your mate. As a fellow biker, I know how these things can affect you. My deepest sympathies to your mates family and friends. Regards TaperOne. PS If you order one of these OBD leads, let me know as I could do with one as well. PM me with details, costs etc.

Dan, I put my bikes in the garage two years ago. Similar reasons, to many losses I now have the same passion I had for bikes for my Scorpio, maybe more Hart felt mate Waders.

Cheers waders. Luckily.. (though not at the time) some scumbag decided to steal my last bike.. a 4month old SV1000S.. So it has saved me the hassle of getting rid. I'll collect on the insurance and pay off the loan to buy it in the first place. Now i think riding a superbike when having a young family at home is just irresponsible and selfish.

Last time I imported electronics from the states it cost 17.5% vat, plus 3% customs duty plus £13 per package presentation fee to the postal service.
