Unfortunately today i became a member of this UNLUCKY club, and had some ? HEAD reverse into the front of my baby and then drive off without leaving any details. So my front bumper is smashed along with the grill and a cracked drivers headlight, luckily the bonnet survived unscathed so its minor really but a big pain in the backside so i'm now on the look out for a pre-facelift front bumper and drivers headlight and front grill if anyone can help. PLEASE!!!!!! Fitzy

Sorry to hear about that Fitzy, it is really upsetting when that happens . One of my earlier Granada's was scratched down both sides, wings and doors, right to the metal, when the car was only a few weeks old. Cost £1000's to put right as a respray was needed. I live in fear of an accident like that as the cost of repair could exceed the theoretical insurance value of my immaculate cossie. But I guess some guys on this forum will come to your rescue before long. Neil W.

How badly smashed is it? I have repaired various bumpers using a plastic welder. What kind of prices are second hand/new bumpers going for? Have I found myself a market niche?? Anyone got a smashed Scorp one I can try out?

Thanks Highlander but the bumpers beyond repair pretty well smashed up below the grill and a few little bits missing. Thanks for the offer. Fitzy

Sorry to hear your plight Fitzy. I guess I'm not a founder member of the H & R club but I had my front bumper holed and headlight broken February of last year and the back one cracked last week. I was parked on both occasions and both drivers (or was it the same one?) drove off but I happened to see the last one and so did a witness. I had to pay for the headlight but still have two bust bumpers for which I have, at last, been able to source replacements from a member here. If you want the rear bumper H, Grantham is down a lot and across a fair bit (off the A1). I reacon it would be ideal for roofing the kennel if you can't mend it.

Thanks Simmo, will try Bridges in a few days, well this is the third bit of bad luck so should be ok after this. Simmo yes it passed the M.O.T just had to renew the rear shocks, and the leak on the power steeering turned out to be a loose pump return pipe and as the garage that done the M.O.T had fitted the new engine they replaced the pipe free of charge so alls well now. As for CCTV where i was parked is obscured by a tree so will not be clear enough, anyway it was one of those black upside down bowl looking cameras with one camera inside that the operater has to turn to look at anything. Oh wellat least its only cosmetic and still driveable. Fitzy

Well i got a new bumper now . Won the auction on ebay, cost me £143.50. Its a new facelift bumper with the vents. Not sure if thats a fair price or not , think i read on the forum somewhere that Fords don't stock them anymore, a mate at work who works part time at a body shop said he'll get it sprayed for £30.00 and fit it free, so thats not too bad. Does anyone know if the fog/indicator lights are the same size or are they bigger on the facelift bumper? Anyway just need a facelift grill and the smoked headlights and i'm smoking. Are the grills still available from Fords? Fitzy

I am begining to think my Scorpio has a big magnet in it, only had it since the end of June and I have had no fewer than 4 people hit it and drive off, not a lot of damage but what looked like a showroom car now looks like its been used for banger racing

I know that Admin doesn't miss many tricks but as so many members seem to use Bridges, I am wondering why they don't advertise on this Site. It would create additional site revenue and be cheaper than eBay charges. Just a thought.
