as some of you already know,i have always had a video in the car along with a single screen that was attached to the rear consul, anyway, today eventually got round to upgrading to a DVD player, and a nice set of headrest screens to boot as well, screens are 7" widescreen ones, and the picture quality really is good.... in the boot is a toad m3 video and centuturion DVD player, both units have an infra red eye in the car, which really helps, sound is coming through the car stereo via a RF modulator, and also connected is an inrared transmitter which sends the sound to cordless headphones, which the girls use a lot just got to get my air-con all sorted out tomorrow (hopefully ),and car will be all back to normal.... off now to take the advice about networking,so knowing my luck,.....

Nice one Craig! They look pretty d**n awesome to say the least. Makes me want to go make some babies to warrant me getting something similar in mine. Think I'll just stick to practicing at the mo though as I can't really afford them....or the kids for that matter! Another good reason to get to Weston

Are the screens powered from the 12V power supply in the rear centre console? I can pictures wires running down the side of the seat! And the screens and headrest in the link for e-bay; are they the same as yours? I'm quite tempted, I have to admit!

yes they are powered by 12v (obviously),but the wire is enclosed in one of the poles, the plug on the end is small enough to fit in the hole in the top of the seat, and luckilly enough,on the ultima you can put your hand in behind the bottom seat pad,so practically all wiring is hidden from view,i ran mine up the side under the trim, and all connections are made either in the boot,or under the back seat..... Sounds good to me. Did you just cut into a 12V supply that powers the seats?

no,what i did was when i had the original video set up,i also fitted an additional cigarette lighter in the boot, this was put in to power an invertor for a games consul,so i had all the wiring already in place,if you were considering the same, you could "spur off" just about any connection i guess, theres plenty to choose from in these cars

mike.... yes the screens have a "carbon effect" strip running around the screens.... cable length, put it this way it went from both sides up under the plastic trim on the side and under the back seat where it sits..... plug on the end is a normal yellow video RCA plug, and a + and _ wire on each end.... HTH

| Sorry about all the questions, but what about the audio input and how do they stop from dropping down in height, I can't see any teeth on the poles as on the Scorp's TAG

mike.... the poles are adjustable,so all you have to do is make them 1 size too large/small and then gravity takes over. as for audio, you either plug what device you are using (DVD,VIDEO PS2 ETC.ETC) into your existing stereo via an RF modulator,or use an ifra red sender to transmit the sound to headphones....
