This was talked about after the last fuel strike,
basically the idea was to get as many people as possible to boycott a couple of the biggest suppliers and therefore force them into a price cut.

Good idea in theory but getting the numbers to make it work is a different story

Boycott Huh

I think what they are trying to do with this is get enough people people to sign up, then all the people would use one major petrol retailer, eg shell or esso, where a discount would be applied on showing your card.

.......similar to the other petition then, which was to boycott esso and bp (apparently the same company) which are the largest suppliers (more forcourts), and using the smaller firms. therefore the big "one" would reduce their prices. (no card involved on this one)

Russ

p.s in my area 4wks ago, unleaded was 104.9p per litre in country, 99.9p in town, town is now 88.9p.

11% drop in 4 wks.

Yeh, know what you mean. I went to fill up yesterday and it was down to 84.9, which is the lowest its been since the start of the summer. I normaly get mine at Morrisons as it is always at leat 2p cheaper than anyone else in my area.

I notice  US  petrol  from a high of    $3.20 per Gal.   after the New Orleans disaster  is  now back down   to   $2.20  ( £1.29 !!!!) .

Cheapest I've  seen : 85.9  per Lt.  in  Edinburgh.
