Hi all,
I guess I got too tied up in problem solving before I got chance to say hello.
I have been a member about a week or so and have already been given the confidence to tackle the egr faults.
I would not have even known where to look for the fault without the fault finding page on this site.
as I have said in earlier postings I saved money so its only fair that the savings are shared with the site by way of a donation. I dont want thanks but I do want this fantastic gold mine of knowledge to continue.
Thanks to you all for a site that exceeds expectations of any humble car owner. Its just a shame that the other car owners dont know what they are missing.
But listen guys dont tell them because then we can keep these experior machines all for ourselves. Grin
Or am I just greedy Undecided
Al

thanks for the welcome guys and gals,
as a youth I always aspired to that dream that is that of cosworth having various escort and sierra replicas but never the real thing. a bit later in life I heard on local jungle drums that a bloke not to far away was in desperate nead of cash and wanted to sell a saphie 4x4 cossie.
so a deal was done. Grin
To be honest ever since then I have had on occasion difficulty sleeping because I got that car for less than the equivalent standard 2.0ltr ghia would have cost. Shocked
However,
I do believe in karma and guess what, It was nicked of my drive never to be seen again.
so after spending a few years with lesser quality vehicles and motorcycles I ended up with a back injury so went looking for an auto.
Now this is where it gets spooky.
My nick name was cossie al when I had the saphie.
I picked the ultima out of a load of fords in the auto trader.
not advertised as auto or cossie rang the guy up and he told me that I should know it was auto before I came.
I said oh never mind I will have a look any way. Wink Wink Wink
So when I got there the guy showed me the full fmd stamped book and every bill that the car has had for all of its life I have put all the bills and invoices in a folder and so far I have 53 file pockets.
Back to the point the guy selling it thought that being an auto was a down side not to me it was exactly what i wanted.
Did the usual tests and a drive and found a few faults but nothing drastic.
lifted the bonnet and there in all its glory was the lagend embezelled over the engine.
I stepped back and looked at the plate and guess what N100 AL
my nick name was on the plate it was an auto cossie.
I reckon that car and me were meant to come together
what do you reckon?? Cheesy
