Hello people.

I impulse purchased a 1996 2.9 12v Ultima estate with low mileage on Thursday and got it today.

(see my other post regarding potential gearbox horrors)

One question...   Is there a hardship fund for petrol?  Roll Eyes

Yep, I'll take a pic or two.

The interior needs a good scrub, I think the last owner liked his cigars too much!

The outside is shiny enough though! Smiley

How much is that costing?  I am very interested in making the gas guzzling behemoth cheaper to live with.

Not costing a great deal to be honest. The system came off a Granada Cosworth but is exactly the same system as Steve (Admin Steve) had fitted to his (now his dads) Scorpio have a look here: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/svilpg.htm

The system was installed on the car I got it from in August 2004 and the car was written off in April 2005 so it didn't do an awful lot of miles in the meantime and is pretty much as new.

I am taking the car to Wains Classic Rebuilds in Norwich as the guy who owns the company was kind enough to send all the information I needed to install it myself before I ran out of time to do it!! So I asked him if he could fit it for me. I take the car on 26th May and fly back to Manchester and then on 1st June, Connor (my 4 year old) and me fly back to get the car and drive it back (for a lot less than it cost to get there I must add!)

I decided to get the LPG installed because we go to the South of France again in August and last year it cost just short of £580.00 in paetrol to get there and back and drive round for a fortnight.....should be half that much this year so already a big saving!

Total cost: £200.00 for the LPG system and about £300.00 for the guy to fit it.....has to be worth it!!

Thanks,

Yes, its black.  Originally owned by a funeral directors (I'm the third owner).  Hence the low mileage 63k

I paid £850 for it.  More than I wanted to really.

Yes, the bill of sale says it had Raven black cloth seats I think.

They don't look like the leather seats normally seen in Scorpios.  They're pretty comfy and hard wearing.

I still have the electric memory driver seat!  Smiley

I'd be very interested, but a drive to scotland would cost several times what the seats cost!
