Folks, You may have noticed that I have not been about as much as I used to be, and that Snoopy has been doing almost all the work on the Forum. Thanks, Dave. The reason is that I retired from my full-time job last week and I am clearing out my home of many years in Kent preparing to move ooop north in the next couple of weeks. I also have to sell my beloved Scorpio Cosworth, because I need something newer and smaller. I've placed an ad in the For Sale section, but most of you will know the car from the Service history: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/servicenew.htm and the interior pix: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/tour.htm as well as loads of other pages I've written over the years. I've spent a lot of money on the car to keep it right and I would like it to go to a good home sometime next week, so if you're interested PM me. In the meantime it doesn't mean that I will be leaving the Forum or the List. People all over the country will still ring me for advice, and I will still be doing pages for the Site, as soon as I'm settled. I should even have more time than before!!

Eric, what can I say....I have been on here for a few years now and although I am fortunate never to have had to seek serious advice, the conributions you have made to the site are priceless. I hope you know what you are doing selling the Scorpio because you know you will want another and by your own admission.........anything else will be just....ordinary! Good luck in the retirement and if you are this way up north or Harewood up north next month do come and see us! Thanks Baz

Eric, I can only echo what Baz has already said. I have only met you once in person at harewood and although I decided to pack up and move across to the other side of the world and leave my beloved Scorpio behind and all my dear friends on this site, I still applaud you for all the hard work you have put into making this site what it is today, a truly remarkable documentation of the Scorpio in its finest detail, an absolute credit to you and all other members who have contributed. I wish you good luck with your move and I hope you enjoy your new car. Thanks Eric Danny_R

Eric: I too would like to add my best wishes to you, and hope that you have a long and happy retirement. Although a newcomer to the site, I have been amazed by the sheer volume of information and technical information available to us Scorpio Ultima owners. Without such a source of help, I'm sure many of us would have been in difficulty with our cars in the absence of any other kind of Manual. Having just bought my own car, I'm not in the market for another, but I don't think you'll have any difficulty selling yours, especially with such a detailed service history. It's a beauty. It was interesting to read the comments under the pictures of your car. The Scorpio certainly looks the part in 2006, and as WE all know, was years ahead of it's time!! Glad to hear that you will still be working with the site, once you've got settled. I am using the site more and more as I get to know my car, and hope to contribute to it more knowleadgeably (God, that's a big word) as I get to know the car more. I am a keen DIY home mechanic by cost neccessity, and get the satisfaction of knowing that a job's been done thoroughly without being ripped off by garages. All the best to you Eric. Enjoy your replacement car.......... ( It'll be The Lexus, I presume Sir!! )

I mirror pretty much all above. I've been on for about 6 months now since I got mine and this site has seriously kept it on the road, whereas I would have thrown the towel in long before now. I've been on a few sites and forums with my other cars in the past but I've found the Scorp crowd to be without word of a lie, the absolute best and that is a big thanks to you. Good luck with the move and sale, see you around in the near future I hope. Cheers and thanks again!!!

I agree to all above. Without the help of this site, I would probably have sold the car for next to nothing long ago. The amount and quality of content on this site is just amazing, and far superseedes anything I've seen before. I seriously doubt the good folks at the blue oval know this much about their cars, and particulary the Scorpio. I know we all appreciate what you have done Eric, and wish you the best of luck in the future.

Thanks for all those comments guys - it's nice to be appreciated. I must add that I am only one of a Team - Steve C runs (and funds) the servers and provides the webspace, Pete C runs the List, and Snoopy does all the donkey work on the Forum, and it's been a privilege and pleasure to know and work with them to build these results. My Cosworth is now in new hands - it went last night to Mike down south. I hope he'll get as much pleasure driving it as I did over the years. However, I'm still here, still advising on OBD, and still doing pages whenever I can - new ones just added - see my new post.
