Surely there MUST be more than 40 cossies and 12-valves in the UK? And more than 30 diesels and 2.3's. Or am I reading the figures wrong?

I took it to be thousands - but then that seems high to me - there is no email address so it would need another letter to confirm! Dave

If you multiply the numbers by 10, MAYBE, but even that seems improbable. Perhaps they just lost track of most of them?

Can't possibly be right surely If so, mines coming off the road and being treated as rare and precious jewel wrapped in cotton wool and shrink wrapped only coming out once a year for Harewood

Maybe they're beta testing a computer system utilizing quantum physics. "There may or may not be a thousand scorpios on the road today"

They must be using the same formula that they used when calculating how many eastern european economic migrants would come to the UK in the first 12 months after membership to the EU. I believe the figure they came out with was 17,000. and then 6,500 turned up in Crewe alone in the space of three weeks all looking for work!! I believe the national figure is over 100,000!! so manybe some good comparisons there then!

Even Eddie Stobart has more trucks on the road than that, but then you do see more of his trucks than scorpios so maybe it is right ?

I agree that these figures cannot be correct. I am the proud owner of a dark metallic blue 'P' reg Scorpio Ultima 2.3 estate automatic, which i bought earlier this year to replace a very disappointing Nissan Almera. Living as I do in North Wales I didn't expect to see many more Scorpios, but I have spotted quite a few over the past few months, including at least another two estates, one of which was a Ghia model in a very dark grey colour, and I have seen several saloons in this area also, all different ones. Not sure what engines they have got as I didn't see their rear ends. I would upload a photo of my estate but I'm not sure how to do it

Did just that today - Frank The results are in units but have got another list on its way (emailed this time). Apparently there are further models listed which Paul at DOT didn't realise (he was very helpful BTW) Instead of being listed as Scorpio or Scorpio Auto there are further catagories listing the model IE Ultima, Ghia and Exec! Will feedback the results asap! Dave PS - he also said there were around 1500 un-taxed!!

| At least ten of those are in a yard in Hornchurch where I weant to get a new wheel (but then they are also in pieces). One very sad site was a dead Ultima or Ghia X estate (couldn't tell which because the badges had been removed) - but anyway it still had all it's internal leather glory now had four space saver spare wheels. Cheers Penguin
