No idea if they would work on Scorp? Any ideas anyone? Had read somewhere on here that people had tried all sorts of other remotes and none worked so doubt this would.

Would be surprised somehow - don't our fobs change frequency every so often? This one would have to be able to re-read the signal. It does look the same shape, so if it doesn't work you may be able to use the rubber key pad in a Ford remote! Dave

I believe that our remotes change freq every time its used, thats why you have to reprogram the remote when you change batteries so it can regain it's synch with the car.

Got a feeling these are RF key fobs and ours are infra red (Hope i'm correct in saying that) so don't think they'll work either.

No ... I am pretty sure they are RF, because there is no light sender on them, and no infra red receiver in the car. My last "toy" was a Citroen XM which did have an infra red blipper, and there was a translucent plastic receiver above the windscreen. If the one I have ordered arrives and works (I asked him to cancel the transaction if it was known to be unsuitable) I will let you all know very forthwith indeed! John

I stand corrected, and really shouldn't have said that as my other car a mk1 mondeo uses an infra red remote(Engage brain before opening mouth) and has receiver built into door handle! Why if ours are rf is the range so poor? I'm using a brand new remote but compared to other cars i've driven the range of the remote is pathetic only 15 metres or so.

Why would you need a greater range than 15 metres ! Do the Top Gear trick and double your range if it's that important.

The remote fob I ordered is not suitable for the Scorpio. I wish the vendor had answered my query before accepting a payment, but as a research fee on behalf of the community, I suppose it was money well spent!!!

I'm sure the answer to this is no. This has been referred to before on the basis that they appear identical. If you are thinking of buying you should have a 'return if un-suitable' deal if this is possible on ebay.

Don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. The Transit and the Scorpio does share a lot of parts.
