Long time since I've been on here........

it's been a while since I have properly posted on here but I do try to keep reading/keeping up todate with all things scorpy.
Just when you think you have that perfect life.....happily married etc, 2 scorps on the drive and all, along comes the mother of all kicks in the balls, Leigh my wife, was diagnosed cancer in 3 places, uncurable but they will try to control it. This was back in August, so far she has undergone christ knows how many tests etc scans and chunks cut off and sent away. So then we went down the Chemo route, something I am all too fimiliar with as long term members will remember my dad and my very good friend going down this route.
She's onto number 3 chemo has has had all the side effects that go with it....
so the bottom has fell out of my life completely, nothing matters any more, hey, before this the only concern/worry I had was car related, what bits to buy and to race the RS at any available opportunity.
Someone once said to me, Life is like a large nuts sandwich, and we've all got to take a bite! How true he has.

I personally lost one of my kids a few years ago, (My first Son, a cot death) and then almost two years afterwards to the day, whilst I was away on business, my Daughter Rosemary who was just approaching 2 years old, fell into our own garden pond, and drowned.
How I got through life after such events is still a mystery, and it's been a roller coaster from which, if I'm honest with myself, I've never recovered from, but if ever you need a strong shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you.
Strength in numbers. Keep hoping mate. I know it's hard, but you will gain strength from somewhere.

Thats horrid, I am so sorry that you are both having such a grim time, I hope things work out as best they can and that you both get the chance to see some better times.
Meantime I know this is a bit simplistic but I guess you know that you need to keep plugging away.

Holy nuts Simon, that is terrible news. As has been said before....keep fighting and never ever give up. My first wife died very suddenly when she was only 22 and I was 24. Ever since then I have had the never give up attitude and it has done me well for nearly 20 years since Lynne died

There is something about this forum, the Scorpio car that brings out the good in everyone, even people I have never met.

There's nothing that I or anyone else can say to make things any better but there are many people on here who understand what you are going through.
I lost my father to cancer some years ago, I know what you mean about the bottom falling out of your world, I was 8 at the time and losing Dad was the worst event of my life. The memory of that time still burns raw but the research into cancer came on in leaps and bounds in the years after his death, at least nowadays once it is diagnosed then far more can be done to help  .
