Today's the day...

Moment of truth after almost one year of ownership - Trebbie is in for its first service and MOT under me. Time to find out if the vending garage were shoddy about anything when they serviced it a year ago - although it has to be said (gearbox transplant under warranty notwithstanding) hardly anything's gone wrong with it and the only things on the "known faults" list is a horn with only one note and the glovebox light. I'll let you know how it did later. Cheers Penguin

good luck, mine passed yesterday .......with no advice however, i do know the tester a bit and he did say there is a small prob with the rear calipers regarding the handbrake 'arms'. he suggested a strip and overhaul. i was concerned about the emissions being a diesel, but he said no prob. the spare tyre is flat but he said thats not on the checklist which suprised me...

It seems to have done fine. Needs new rear discs and since the garage couldn't get them in today it won't be ready until tomorrow, but otherwise it's as clean as a whistle and will hapilly drive on for many more years....

Good news. My old diesel estate passed the mot yesterday and the emissions were fine (surprisingly). Very pleased, as is my driver who's bought it off me (for the bargain price of £500). Paul

You sold the old boat then Paul? Always looked like a nice car. Never heard it though

Yep, one of my drivers needed a car to run about in, and I couldn't really justify keeping both (had never got round to selling the old un). I did him a favour with the price, a lot of motor for £500 including 12 months ticket. Luckily he's a bit deaf and doesn't mind the noise!! Paul

A bargain at twice the price. Mine's now back - and despite the rather strange smell of synthetic strawberries in the newly valeted cabin, it's a joy to behold once again. Looks like the last owner did do the trick of replacing the rear pads only (not the discs) but they've been replaced now so I'll have to get used to its somewhat shorter stopping distance.... ....says something about the quality car though. Pouring with rain today and a ****ing chavmobile* decided to pull out in front when I was doing 40 with not space to swerve. Managed to brake in time though (with a little help from the traction control). Cheers Penguin *in this instance I mean a bus, not a BMW 316.
