Howdy everyone Im Lee and i have just bought my very first Ford Scorpio. My father has been a ford fanatic all his life and throughout my childhood he had lots and lots of Granadas. He has fancied a Scorpio for a long time and he is happy that i decided to buy one. Its a 1998 on an S in the very light blue (not sure what its called). Its a Ghia X Estate with the 2.5 TD engine and the black leather interior. Manual, 128k miles and owned 99% of its life by one chap. Think it was probabaly a ford demo car before this as it shows the first owner having it only around 6 months from new. Anyway its good to be aboard. Im a Toyota man myself but i really admire the styling of the scorpio and it has a lot more character the all the other cars on the road. Im going to do all the servicing and repairs myself as im very mechanically minded. Been checking out the guides on this site and i have to say that its great to have all this knowledge in one place Like i said i'm a Toyota man at heart (except for one vauxhall, a citroen and a Lotus Esprit in a moment of madness) and have been tuning up Celicas and Supras for years now. Currently im putting a 4.0 32v V8 from a Lexus LS400 into my 1985 Toyota Celica Supra so as you can imagine i spend a lot of time out in the garage at the mo But should all be worth it as it will be the only V8 MK2 Supra in Europe once done Fingers crossed i get it all finished in time for our annual Nurburgring trip this May....otherwise there will be a big blue scorpio estate going around the track All the best and thanks for having me aboard Lee

Probably get round it quicker than Clarkson with his ten minute lap in a S type diesel. Welcome and enjoy your Scorp!

Welcome Lee, would love to see some piccies of your Toyota when done. Glad your very mechanically minded as i've a feeling that expertise will be put to good use on the Scorp Seriously though enjoy the relaxed driving that the TD will give you. Guy.

welcome lee, an excellent choice. before i bought mine a year ago i was looking for a luxurious cadillac, or maybe chevvy, but couldnt find one in the right price range, so thought about scorpio's, i knew b****r all about 'em, but had always been curious and love the rear look of them. ended up with a 2.5td saloon and havent looked back. i've found that they have their problems, but we just carry on and love em, they're a bit like (if you know your bikes) ducati or (dare i mention that god awful make) hardley davidson; you dont so much as buy a scorp, you start collecting one....
