MOT Today

well, as my mot runs out on 6th November I put the old girl in today so that I had a month to decide what to do.
I was expecting a long list of things that were wrong and was in the process of scouring the market place for a replacement, I have even made tentative enquiries about a couple of scorps advertised on this site.

I have just returned with her and they failed me on 2 Rear tyres  and gave me an advisory for a brake hose, the other 2 tyres and a little play in the steering rack.

I'm having the tyres done tomorrow morning and then straight back for the free retest Yippeeeeeee another year with my cossie !!!

Well done, with the cost of petrol these days the last thing you want is  a long list of expensive repairs to  obtain  a  new  MOT.  Kiss

Roll  on   the   2 yearly  MOT  that   has  been  mooted.

Well my 40 year old Corsair passed on Friday after 12 years sat in a garage with its last MOT back in 1995, I took it only really expecting to get a list of things that needed doing to get a pass. However, with just a change of a rear bulb and two split pins in the steering rack nuts; IT PASSED!!

Only thing now; because it has not been taxed since 1995, it is still showing as a PLG and needs to be changed to Historic vehicle so I can get the free road tax otherwise I have to pay £99.00 for 6 months. It is insured and polished, all ready for the wet winter so it can sit in the garage!!

The daft thing though, even though it is 40 years old, it is insured and MOT'd I can't drive it because it isn't displaying th tax disk that I don't have to pay for in the first place.... the world has gone mad!
