Hi All, new member here, just had to join this forum as its the best on the net as far as I can see. At present I have a 1997 2.0l Ultima, but have been driving Granada's and Scorpios since the mid eighties, (guess I must like them then!) as you all say the level of comfort in these cars is superb. I try to do all my own repairs and maintenance, been messing around with cars since I was twelve!, and this site has been invaluable in helping me with the scorpio which I bought as a none runner. Don.

Hi Don and welcome !

I also had a few Granadas & a Granada Scorpio from the mid '80's onwards before I bought my current Scorpio.
Congratulations on your excellent taste in motors  Grin

Thanks for the welcome guys, and Scorpio Mike,  a man after my own heart, I started off with a 1977 2.3 carbed auto saloon which I converted to a 2.8 injected manual, after that a foray into a Jaguar v12 saloon, (Too expensive to keep due to tinworm attack), then an H plate 2.9 hatchback, followed by a J plate 2.0 saloon then onto a K plate 2.0 saloon, and finally of course the ultima. Also the name probably gives away that I have a couple of bikes too.

That's strange Don, my 1st Granny was also a 2.3 carb auto saloon - an S reg one I think - it was bright metallic green with a black vinyl roof and tan cloth interior. Kept it about a month due to 15mpg  Shocked Think the engine or gearbox were past it.
Moved on to an A reg 2.8 Ghia in champange gold with brown velour trim - kept it for just over a year. Never did get that 2.8 carb engine running properly.
Then I found my dream  Grin 2.8i Special Estate with Recaro trim and 5-spd manual gearbox - had that baby for almost 10 years before rust got the better of it - over 230k on the clock though.
Next was a L reg Granada Scorpio Estate 2.9i auto in metallic burgundy which I had for about 5 1/2 years before trading it in for my current Scorpio.

It would have to be the Drumchapel Mafia then Highlander. Ha Ha!! Smiley (hope they don't read this!) I'm restoring a 1987 GSX Suzuki a.t.m, and I ride a restored 1966 Norton ES2 Mk2 500 single. Lovely Brit sound from it.
