Hello everyone.
Just recently joined after purchasing my first Scorpio and thought I'd be polite and introduce myself.

Firstly a bit about me.
I'm not a mechanic but I do enjoy the fun and satisfaction of fixing a car for a fraction of the price you could be charged.
In amongst the numerous cars I've possessed there has been......
4 Mk2 Granadas, 2x2.3GL Autos, 1x2.0L Manual and 1x2.8 Ghia IX Auto.
3 Mk3 Granadas, All Scorpio Autos, 1x2.0L and 2x12v's.
In fact I still have the last Mk3 in my possession. Needs work for an MOT and despite the fact I agreed with the missus to sell it once I bought the Scorpio, it is out of sight out of mind at the mo.... wish me luck lol.
The reason I joined and my current choice of transport is a 1995 12v Aubergine Ultima Saloon on a 'N'.
Bought it on Ebay without tax or mot for £250 plus £50 for delivery to MOT station.
Only needed 2 front brake hoses for MOT, total cost £126.50 and £185 for 12 months tax later, it was on the road.
It shows 67K on the clock although the seller informs me it had a cluster change at about 35K. Not sure whether that means 102K total or not as I've read it reads the mileage from the comp.
General condition is good but not without it's problems which are soon to be posted in advice section.
First day of driving I managed to reverse into a low bollard on the market square and the scratched rear bumper is now a cracked rear bumper but not crucial to be changed at the moment.
Funny thing is that every time I get a new car, the missus' car suffers a serious defect which basically means she ends up driving it instead of me.
This time it was her Astra Sport's decision to split its front exhaust on the only morning I needed to take the Scorpio to work.
Then the Scorpio blew a tyre on the A1 at 80mph and the short version is we were both very late for work.
Well, I could go on all night but you're probably getting bored so if you want to know more, check out the advice section to find out what else is not quite right with the car and maybe you can helpHuh
Cheers,
Mark

Hi and welcome.

A question if I may.
Are you the same homer2themax that climbed a mountain for charity a couple of years ago in south america ?
