Well after spending £1000+ on repairs the Scorpio is now MOT'ed for another year Most of my friends think I'm mad spending this sort of money on old old banger, when I have already spent similar amounts on non MOT repairs I.E injector pump, electrics, etc. Still, another year on the road & time to add to the 204K that's already on the clock

Aye, well done Rob. There is no better feeling for a person looking after their own car, than to pass the dreaded MOT! I take my hat off to you for making the committment to keeping your Scorpio on the road, just remember how much anyone could spend on some 'old-banger' before getting it MOT'd to find an extra £1000 needs to be spent to pass! Old banger being something in the region of a 55 reg car! I have a close mate with a 54 reg Jag that just spent £1400 to get it through it's MOT. Our cars are better than poxy 'Mondeo-type' Jags! Stick to the Scorpio, as long as it owes you nothing. Peter.
