On Yahoo at the moment is an article about plug ugly cars, Scorpio face lift is listed, with explanation thta it is one of the few cars to be facelifted and by doing so ruined a perfectly average saloon. Strange people these critics. Tried to add link but not working

It would be very nice if we all got paid for publicising our opinions, but then no one would take any notice of us any more than we do of them GOZZ.

Personally I actually like how the Scorpio looks. How many cars have developed similar front end styling in recent years... It was just ahead of it's time David

| Hi David.Never mind in recent times. The 'E'Class of 1997 had a very close & coincidental frontal look to that of the Scorpio. It was never deemed Ugly,it had the Three Pointed Star on the Bonnet. The lowly but ground breaking Scorpio had a Blue Acrylic Oval Badge. Indeed the guy that owned the one that I have (a 97 Ultima Auto Estate) bought a 97 E320 Avante Garde Auto Estate himself,I think he was anticipating withdrawal symptoms.

Thinking back, the Sierra and the Focus both got similar reactions when they came out the Scorpio just wasn't around long enough for fashion to catch up with it

Judging by the number of people that just stare at mine and the comments (all good) I get when filling up and even the occasional request to "take it off my hands when I no longer want it" goes to show that it must have a hidden beauty that 'critics' are blind to.

| Hi to you all out there. We(myself & my Rooster lady friend,we are both 45Roosters in The Chinese Calendar)) have just returned from spending the weekly left-overs from the pension on a Pub Carvery Lunch. I sat in a Bay window watching two guys that got out of a very ordinary Peugeot 406 Saloon gawking at our 97 Scorpio 2.3 Auto Ultima Estate in Cuirass. They were quite obviously animated in a complimentary way. As I was leaving I engaged briefly in conversation with them both;as you would & should as an owner of such an Iconic & Ground-Breaking piece of motoring history. Oh, DON'T LET ANYONE tell you any different. They would have been positively dazzled if it had only just been washed.
