MOT Passed at age 16 and CO

Not used the car much the last year (1,700 miles only) had an intermittent ABS problem, checked the usual things and no fix but having used the car more the problem has gone away - damp ? I have a spare controller so will have to swap it if the problem returns. Took for MOT and passed OK, marginal CO due to the cheapo catalysts I fitted 3 years ago but have since checked the MOT Handbook and the latest update says that the 24V engine only has to be below 0.3 not the 0.2 my tester was asking for so if you have an early Cossie and the MOT man says it should be below 0.2 CO on fast Idle tell him to check the book. Ideally CO should be as low as possible but with the price of genuine Cats it is diffcult to justify and not it seems essential as the engine was not designed to 2002+ standards. After all that fast idling I now have small water leak - from the hose that goes from the top of the thermostat through the cylinder head, will try and change it without removing the manifolds but it lokks like an impossible keyhole surgery job -any tips ? The car is othewise perfect and much nicer to drive than my nearly new Mondeo Titanium X.
