Thought I would post here as it is not a question or need for help. Drove to N wales today but would have been better taking a boat. Just over 1/2 way a clunking noise from under bonnet, at this moment in time it is peeing down, get out have alook and see i have suffred the ball joint failure of the wiper linkage. Next good bit of news is I have no phone signal to either summon help or let peole know I am going to be late. However in my pocket is an off cut of para cord, whilst getting soaked i manage to secure it and it seemd to work. Got to my location and eventually back to gloucester, and it HELD you can not beat nylon para cord. Now off to parts wanted/scrappy.

Always a good idea to have a spare cable tie in the ash tray for when it eventually fails as they always seem to do.

I fixed my Dad's wipers on his Merc 300 by drilling the ball join, inserting a rivnut then drilling a hole in the arm and bolting with a stainless bolt. Been good for 4 years so far.

Well having seen the prices quoted in parts wanted, today i went to FMD asked about the part, gave finis number but it got drawn out, he found I wanted the granny part for a Scopio and got lost, just then the head shed of parts comes by caught on the conversation, had a few words with me then vanished, returned with a very dusty FULL set of linkage for a Scorpio. Ordered a lont tiem ago ad for soe reason never sent back, how about buying it "as seen"? how much saya I call it £15 including VAT, nano seconds later agreed, so job sorted admitedly a few more bolts but who cares.

Nice one, sounds like a good result, now put the cable tie in the ash tray for later
