Excellent! The ones i've done in the past seem to last fine, never had one stick again. its nice to actually sort something, when the usual practice these days is just to replace components. Unusual in that it seized in the off position though, I usually see them seize on, I suspect because they spend most of the time sitting with the handbrake on. In the autos I like to leave the handbrake off just for that reason.

Cant be bad when a 15 year old car goes through an MOT for no cost apart from a good slug of injector cleaner. I very rarely use the handbrake, maybe thats why it seized.

A suggestion for using the handbrake with an Automatic car, when you come down to a set of traffic-lights, and you would normally hold your foot on the brake, aye, that nice hot front-vented disc brake! Why not just pull the cooler hand-brake on a couple of clicks to hold the car, this will stop warping of the hotter front discs that are trying to dissipate the heat out of the single position front pads. The rear brakes will always be cooler, so less chance of warping, and you can be sure of them working when MOT comes along.
