MOT Passed!

Yippee! "The Beast" passed the MOT yesterday with just one advisory, 001 Tyre worn close to the legal limit nearside Rear. I expected her to fail as the Sills look a bit tardy and with that in mind I bought replacement Sills and had lined up my local Garage to fit them once she failed so that she would pass within the 10 day time limit. Well, there you go. I am a very happy Scorpio owner . Best wishes Mike

Thank you everybody. I was on the brink of scrapping "The Beast." The Power steering had failed, the Sills looked in a bad way, the Roof Lining is more rouched than glued, the tyres are near the end of life, the petrol Tank straps, well one bust as I took her to my local trusted Garage, "Crowshoot", for Roger to have a look at the Steering Rack, and my other 24 Valve Cossie Estate is younger with interior Electrical faults, and the ABS and Traction Control lights permantly on but with a better set of Sills, so it is thought. The advice I received was to use The Beast as a donor etc, etc. Keep in mind that The Beast has just had her Loom fully and expertly re-wired at a cost of nearly £1500. When I told Roger my Quandry he and his staff just said "You can't do scrap her!" Also Carol said similarly, so I ordered up a Steering Rack which Roger replaced along with the Tank Strap and I put her up for the MOT. The rest you know. except that I sourced Sills which will be fitted very soon. . There you have it folks. One happy Scorpio owner. And she drives like a dream! Mike

Hi Mike, Glad to see you're keeping them going. I replaced my headlining a couple of months ago - more tedious than difficult. Difficult to get a decent picture, I used a perforated foam backed vinyl similar to the perforated seat leather. I've used the proper glue but the test will be if it stays up in the summer heat I've used a Granada sun shade for the sunroof but I may get round to re-covering the Scorpio one. Dave
