One is chuffed

Gotta tell you this.
My 24V has been laid up for the last year while we have been having a lot of building work done, and pretty much for the previous 5 years as I was working away. I did start it occasionally during that longer period when I was away, but didn't drive it.
Anyway, I was fearing the worst but after charging the battery overnight it started straight away first try. There weren't even any clicking noises from relays etc so I am well chuffed! Love this car. Until the ABS light comes on, that is...

Mine still comes on, off on first run then on from then, something must be warming up. Thats good that the layup has not made it playup.

Probably the dreaded 1095 problem, especially in this cold weather.  This problem is covered here very comprehensively.   I have repaired both of my Jaguar X300 ones, as it's the same unit but much more difficult to access, having to strip the pump out of the car and drain all the brakes!   Any car that has the 1095 problem, will start with the light coming on and going off randomly, seeming to be fixed by things like tapping the glass, and pumping the brakes.   The Jaguar forums say exactly the same.   Fact is, it needs the 'soldering-repair' which is easy enough and well covered on here.   Once the repair has been done, the light will never come on again unless it's a different fault.   I've had this experience with Four cars, done the repair, and never seen the light again.

That's very interesting, as my garage suspect the rear sensors and they are no longer available, or at least hard to find.

Great news Jeff,  Cool
These Scorpios certainly provide us with interesting, intriguing, frustrating problems.  But then, when we surmount them we have cars that are just superb. And they are never boring, mundane or run of the mill.

Ruby's ABS light problem ceased to exist when I changed the Module,  I mean when Graham Toye changed it for me  Cool. Thanks mate.

Thanks for your posts everyone, they are very helpful indeed.

A scan should tell whats at fault, mine told me the front offside sensor and the pump was the problem, pump to still sort.
