Some very sad news folks. Our dear friend Simmo (Mike) has passed away following a long battle with the big C.

Many of you will know him as 1 of the Admin oracles who knew either how to fix something or where to find the relevant information.

I met Mike about 20 years ago through 2 shared passions - Scorpios and Harveys Sussex (best) bitter. Our first meet was at the Dorset pub in Lewes and then many more: either the regular Scorpio meets at Badgers Mount, Kent; when I was frequently working in his area; Xmas in the John Harvey Tavern; and (without fail) the annual Harveys Old Ale celebration in the brewery yard.

Needless to say, Mike enjoyed life. Always had a smile on his face and was happy to help anyone in any way he could. I always looked forward to meeting him and his wife Lynn and will miss him greatly.

I will post a couple of photos soon.

All the best

Paul

Thanks for letting us know Paul,

He was a good old boy ("hello old boy" was his usual greeting).

I'd gone with him to his local Harveys pub for food/drink a few times, he was clearly well liked there, he'll be deeply missed.

Very Sad news indeed, I spoke with him only a week ago, he was still the same old simmo and I will miss hit dry wit. He was a good friend even though we didn't meet very up very  we spoke on a very regular basis and we had a lot of common background. I made him an Admin on here many moons ago. He would ring me when ever we had problems with the forum which happened a lot in the good old days.
Rest in peace Mike , you WILL be missed by a lot of people.

I am so very sad to read of Mike's passing.

My first thoughts are for his nearest an dearest, his family and friends.  I pray that they would know God's comfort and support in these sad times.

Simmo (Mike) was always more than happy to advise and help everyone out with our problems. A good man who is missed.

My sympathy's and very best wishes to all his loved ones and to his friends.
