Title: Aftermarket stereo in 97 Scorpio
Post by bjones21 on Apr 10th, 2004, 3:43pm
I read a few posts on here about compatability of steering wheel remotes with headunits so I would just like to say that if you buy a remote ready Alpine unit and then purchase Alpine product codes KWE-850E and KCE-840B then this definately works. Call me picky but I used to hate having to search through tracks off the headunit so am well pleased that with the new Alpine unit holding the steering wheel stalk in the skip track position will scan through.
To block off the gap caused by having a larger than DIN standard Ford unit the autoleads blanking plate from Halfords for the escort/mondeo/galaxy fits perfectly.
Just fitted two 500w subs into the boot and got it all wired in and sounds lovely. I actually want to drive it more than the skyline at the moment...

I find 400bhp in a skyline enough for the moment. Managed to disable the 4WD the other day by taking the ATESSA fuse out. Bit of a hand ful in RWD in the wet.
Scorpio is much better also for kipping in during lunch hour!
