Title: Re: '95 diesel with 110k miles Post by paul VM25TD on Apr 21st, 2004, 1:07pm Adam, I've had a 95 Ultima Diesel Estate for 2 yrs with little trouble. When I first bought it, the alternator wasn't charging the battery due to total failure of the rubber bushes within the crankshaft pulley! The pulley outer was revolving around the inner. I also had a "smoking diesel" problem which turned out to be a dirty or stuck EGR valve, cured by local Diesel experts. Apart from that, it's been an excellent motor. There are one or two horror stories on this site regarding "dropped valves" and "Push-Rods popping out, but I'd rather not contemplate those!! |
