Hi, Im new to this website.
Im looking to buy a granada or a scorpio 2.5td
and was just wondering what so of mpg you can expect from them?
Also what are these engines like, is there anything to look out for on them when buying one?

There's a mass of info on the main site.. just click above where it says Ford Scorpio...It will give you a better idea of what you want then come back and post a question or two about a specific model or engine size and you'll get a load of advice.
Personally I think if you can afford the juice go for the 2.9 24v Cossie... you'll not regret it.

I need something fairly good on fuel because im going to use it for work as a window cleaner, so i would prob go for the 2.5 td, but i just wanted to know how good they are on fuel and how reliable they are and how good the engines are

Why a Scorpio just for window cleaning ?, If you want something cheap and reliable why don't you get a Fiesta or simular.

Its going to be used at weekends for going out in so i want somthnig comfortable as well with aircon.
My wife already has a fiesta so i want a bigger car.

Mines a 2.5TD Ultima manual. The book says you can get 46 mpg out of it... I think that's at 45 mph in 5th... With mixed driving I probably get mid 30s. 40mpg if you go steady on the motorway, 60mph etc - which I don't! At 80mph get high 30's, town driving & mixed about 30. At 90mph about 30mpg and about 25 at 100mph.
It pulls pretty strongly, better than a 406 or 306 turbo diesel, and has a nicer power delivery - none of that all at once boost rush you get with other TD's. Nice torque off boost too. I've had problems with push rods popping out of rockers and this can be a pain. Happens about every 4000 miles.... i know others have had the same problem too. Also parts are hard to come by second hand. Lots of petrols in scrappies but diesels are like hens teeth in scrappies.
