hi all,
i have a 1996 N reg scorpio ultima 2.5 td with the vm engine fitted in it. the big end bearings has gone and i`ve been offered a 2.5 td engine out of a granada 1993-4 L reg. The question is will it fit and is it the same? or do any of yu know where i can get an engine from.

Its the same VM engine, but in the Scorpio the drive belts, coolant circuit, cylinder heads and sump were revised. It should fit, but there may be a compatibility problem with the powertrain control module (PCM), and you wouldn't know until you put the engine in and ran it. It would physically fit because the bolt centres on the bellhousing would be the same and for the rest you would have to suck it and see. Obviously the same engine from a Scorpio would be the better bet.
