does anybody know how easy it is to add the trip computer to the Ultima? My 2.5 TD saloon (95) doesn't have the trip computer but it does have everything else so I would quite like to add it.

Anyone help?

Are you sure it's an Ultima? It should have one as standard.

I would say it's not going to be worth the bother though, you'd have to get a new set of instruments, switch unit and panel to go next to the ign key and the wiring must be a pain as well.

the fuel/trip computer was as far as I know only fitted to the PETROL models.....I am not aware of the fiting on the 2.5TDi

Diesels never got the trip computer, something to do with sensors etc?
Not did they get the heated front windscreen, that one I can't figure out.
And with my estate, you don't get the headlight leveller(it has SLS)so it looks like a poverty spec car inside if it wasn't for the leather.

thanks for the reply guys. I nearly bought one too in the hope I would merely need to plug it in.... who knows why Ford deemed not to put it in the Diesel. And no, my TDi doesn't have heated front screen either.

I wonder why...?!

Do those of you with Diesels have EECV engine management? http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/eecv.htm

Interface port in coinbox.

If not I suspect that accounts for no electric goodies, because you don't have the same mixture of functions or sensors as the petrolheads.

I guess the other clue would be an autobox.

I would think that you could retrofit heated front screen, do you have heated door mirrors?

However you do get better mileage than the 24valve crew :)
