can anyone furnish me with the finis number for the thermostat for a 1998 24v please?

listed as 6588962 part no 89 TM 8575 AA

For 24 v 2.9 Cosworth Scorpio..............

Strangely enough the same one is listed for the 12v as well with the same part number.....

Hi Baz,
Will check the box with the old 24v thermostat in later, to see if it has a sticker on it with more info.
The invoice from ford parts uk suggests that the thermostat is finis 7334678.
I have a good used one available in the For Sale Section if your interested?
I replaced the thermostat as a matter of course when I rebuilt the engine a few months ago..

Thanks Mike, but I am after a new one. The finis number would be good though!

Snoop, the thermostats are most certainly not the same as the 12v. I have 2 x 12v ones in my car waiting to go back to the people who said there were for the 24v!!

Part number on old thermostat: 959F-8575-AA

Part number for new thermostat: 95TF-8K572-AA

Finis number for new thermostat: 7334678

Description for new thermostat: Housing Assy Thermo: 88deg. and/or Connection.

Hope this helps so that Ford can get its act together!

I have had mine on back order (and paid for!!) Since October the 12th. It is a bloody disgrace and Fords really should get their ar*ses kicked for letting people wait that long for a part for a car only just 6 years old.

It is easier to get bits for a bloomin' space shuttle

I used to get parts from Hartwell Ford in Dunstable.
Everything and anything was such a problem. Hurry Up and Wait and Wait and Wait then the wrong part would arrive several days later after many phone calls to the parts department. the other annoying fact is they just let the phone ring out. Good way to keep customers. I dont think.
I now deal with (Ford Parts Uk) (Roger Pike) in a word First Class. You can send him a email Sunday Night and you will have a quote first thing Monday morning, and parts are normally with you by UPS a couple of days later. Worth a Try and they are cheaper than Ford.

Well all I can say is sorry, Microcat have it listed wrong as well then, the part no you quote 7334678 if enetered into Microcat lists it as the thermostat assembly NOT the actual thermostat..which is a seperate item. . I did not mean to mislead but gave you info that was available...Well I have learnt something today so thats a bonus......
