Hi Guys just changed from 2.0 16v to a 24v cossy, on locking the drivers door today I was amazed to see my open drivers window go up when I turned the key to the right to operate the central locking!!!

Never knew about this one is it a standard feature ??? :-/ cheers Shaun I......

YES its called Global Closing and is all described in the handbook

yes but that only happens if you hang on to the key for a long time.
I relly should go and look at the book, but I not got time.
But from memory.
If your car is locked and you turn the key to open the car and hold the key in the unlock position for a so many seconds the windows will all open up and thats the back ones as well as well as the sunroof.
and the same with closing. hold the key in the lock car position for a certain time and all will close.
But they do it in set time, not all at the same time. to say blowing up the electrics, it done on relays.

like snoopy says its in the book. but i not understanding that about 2.0 to cossy.
my 2.0 16v, 1996 march does it all, just like the 1998 cossy i got does, they all do it.
so not understanding why your 2.0 did not do it.

hi there

some of the early cars didn't have it. there was a problem with it (sunroof?), so ford disabled it. this might be the case.

Thanks people, I've had my Scorp for 4 months and never worked out how to do that trick with the sun-roof / windows.

i have a feb 95 2.0 ultima mine does not have the globle option

the book that came with my 2.0 16v dosn,t mention this global thingey, but the one in my 24 valve flying machine has got a section on it !! :-/ the 16v is a june 95 (m) and it has not got it I tryed it today :P a oh it.s off to the salvage man it go,s.........

so i am lucky with my march 1996 2.0 to have the full works.
i like this car somewhat better than the 1997 and 1998 because its got all the puddle and red door opening lights and passenger mirrow that lights up.
I just can't understand why Ford dropped them off the later cars. I mean how much would they have saved on these small items that relly make the car.
