I am changing the 2 rear HO2S sensors this weekend because that nice man 'Waders' checked them for me at the last Herts meeting, before I start does any know if the colour of the wires on the orignal sensors are the same as the new ones from Cats direct ? they are the 4 wire type, the instruction in the box don't show the colour code for Fords.

No thanks Snoopy I have already seen that I was concerned that the colours of the wires on the origanls would be diffrent to the new ones and I wouldn't know which was the earth or live ?

Well usually the BLACK wire is Earth on FORD cars and is so on the wiring on the Scorpio.. Have you looked here for the info you require, its all the wiring Diagrams

HI,

Only checked the colours of my sensor the other day in preparation for similar situation, except mines a 2.3 with only one pr-cat sensor. Anyway, the colours are
2 black
2 white

This probably means the whites are + and the blacks are -, one pair for heater and one pair for sensor. This is only an educated guess as I have not actualy removed the old one yet.

I changed the sensors over the weekend and there was 2 white 1 black & 1 grey wires the same colours as the new ones from Cats Direct so straight foward in the end apart from having to heat up the thread to free off.
