Title: Re: DIFF....SAME ON ALL MODELS ???? Post by gaz01gaz on Mar 24th, 2005, 6:46pm hmmmm, the handbook lists the 2.9 12v and 24v the same ratio e.t.c however i have received a reply from a parts enquiry and they assured me the 24v was l.s.d ???when my previous 24v 1997 was m.o.t 'd the examiner raised the rear and turned the back wheels and commented on the action of the diff being l.s.d...he builds rally cars to british rally spec....however i have a diff on its way from a 24v and as long as it is quieter than the droning sound i have at the minute then it will do for me...cheers everyone for the help and sound advice...gaz |

Title: Re: DIFF....SAME ON ALL MODELS ???? Post by SaveTheNight on Mar 24th, 2005, 11:14pm i'm with Andrew there and I have also yet to see an LSD on the Cossie .. it's possible although unlikely taking into account the action of the traction control etc .. the only one similar that I know of is the 2wd Sierra cossie diff which does run traction with lsd ..but quite complex viscous coupling BUT only on one side of the planetry gears .. so not sure .. beemers do have it though but again more complex ..anyway gaz ..you are right and the 2.9 12v and the Cossie are the same diff .. seven and a half inch < nice > ..and 3.64 ratio rather than err 4.3 ? on the others .. gawd my memory arghhhhh .. regards ....STN |
