Hi All
After reading the topic on engine oil i am very very confused as to which oil to use in my 24v cosworth.
I am about to do my first oil change and would greatly appreciate if other 24v owners could let me know which engine oil they use.

as to make,others will give you tips,but for type of oil,it MUST be synthentic.....

I still believe Mobil 1 to be THE best oil bar none. But as long as you use a branded FULLY Synthetic oil and change it regularly (every 4000 miles seems good) along with a quality oil filter (i.e MUST have a non return valve) you can't go far wrong.

I agree - mine has had Mobil 1 in it virtually all of its life, i took it to a Ford dealership when i first got it and they tried to put semi synthetic in it , i had to insist on fully synthetic!!!!

Thanks to everyone who has replied.
Got the filter and sump plug from fords today.will go and buy some mobil 1 tomorrow.

Any idea which one is best suited to the cosworth.

Mobil 1 0W-30
Mobil 1 0W-40
Mobil 1 5W-20
Mobil 1 5W-30
Mobil 1 10W-30

Hi Andy,
the owners manual states 10w/30 is the preferred grade for the 24v cos.

Why MUST it be synthetic? I've been using Magnatec in mine. Mobil 1 is horrendously expensive.
